Texty: Sissel. Soria Moria. Amazing Grace.
(Trad./Arr.: Bill Maxwell)
Some believe that "Christian" is another word for "preachy." If that was the case, John Newton could not have been a Christian. He was a slave trader and was responsible for much pain and sorrow. One day he was literally hit in the head and in a light saw what the entire faith really meant: grace. Then he wrote Amazing Grace.
Amazing Grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now I'm found
Was blind but now I see
Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
Through many dangerous t? and s?
I have already come
This grace has bought me safe this far
And grace will leave me home
When we've been there ten-thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
And when we've first begun
Amazing Grace how sweet the sound
That saved oh wretch
Like me I once was lost but now I'm found
Was blind but now I see
