Conceived under the principle of unity in diversity (e
pluribus unum), this composition is dedicated to a
historical province of Romania: Transylvania. Designed
as a suite, the seven sonorous images (Intrada, Hora,
Batraneasca, Czardas, Landler, Interludio and Perpetuum
Mobile) evoke Romanian, German and Hungarian
intonations specific to the Transylvanian folklore.
Important in all vernacular folklore sources - that
