Composed by Ben Pritchard. Jazz,Rock. Score and parts. 52 pages. Benjamin Pritchard #2007731. Published by Benjamin Pritchard (A0.986861).

This is a fun, funky chart. It has a relentless, infectious groove and bass line. This will be a crowd favorite! It can be played without solos if necessary. "This Ain’t No Show Tune" is an original composition inspired by an experience as a studio musician rehearsing and recording a bad musical. The keyboard/bass line came to my head as I was driving home after the last studio day. It is a fun, quirky piece with funk and rock feels. There is an open drum solo and an optional "one chord" solo section for the rest of the band. The clavichord part can be played on piano (or both). Measure 53 features a short section without the rhythm section, which leads into the "hard rock" section at measure 61. There is an open drum solo at measure 71, followed by a funky new groove with a lot of dissonance and "snarl." Here you will find a bit of changing meter and a few difficult sixteenth note licks. The original groove comes back at measure 105, which can also be used as an optional "one chord" solo section. There are a few short guitar solo fills as the piece comes to an end. The recording is currently midi but a live recording is on the way!
