The basic fundamental aspects of Les Classiques A La Guitare, by Jean-Maurice Mourat remain the same as the other books by him. Harmonies are simplified and tones are changed to make them easier and more fun to play. Important changes have been incorporated, however, such as placing less of an emphasis on classical music, instead favouring traditional, folk and popular songs. Some fingerings have been simplified and minimised and the difficulties of the pieces progresses nicely throughout the book, greatly smoothing out the learning curve.
