The songs in this mini-revue capture the essence of traditional 'pub life' superbly. Full of warmth, humour and witty observation, you will probably think it was written about your local watering hole. The mini-revue, including an opener and closer, brings together eight songs which can be performed as a set or perhaps as a part of a whole evening's entertainment. It would be ideal at a social function for am-dram society or revue group, or seperately in a cabaret. The set offers opportunities for several performers, male and female, with a compere to introduce the items using the words provided and perhaps adding a few of his own. The songs are all conversational and perhaps should be delivered thus, without undue attention to note-values. ry not to let singing get in the way of natural speech-rhythms and letting the characters be themselves.
