Resurrexi is based entirely upon Gregorian chant alternating between pure chant and polyphonic choral settings in which the chant is used freely. The work is divided into four sections which describe the appearance of the Angel of the Resurrection, and three post-Resurrection appearances of Christ. Each section concludes with a motet which serves as a summation of what has gone before. The music of the opening Alleluia returns in the final chorus, where it is transformed modally and combined with the beautiful ancient chant, "Veni, Creator Spiritus.

Resurrexi je založený výhradne na gregoriánsky chorál striedavo čistého spevu a polyfónne nastavenie zborových, v ktorom je spev voľne používané. Práca je rozdelená do štyroch častí, ktoré popisujú vzhľad Anjel Vzkriesenie, a tri po Resurrection zjavení Krista. Každá kapitola končí s motet, ktorý slúži ako zhrnutie toho, čo sa nevydal. Hudba otvorení Aleluja sa vracia v poslednom refréne, kde je transformovaný modálne a v kombinácii s krásnou starobylého chorálu, "Veni, Creator Spiritus.
