Originál

3 Tenebrae Responsories composed by Ralph Buxton. For SATB choir a cappella. Liturgical Use. Holy Week Services. Text. Latin. Modern, Choral. Vocal score. Text Language. Latin. Duration ca. 12 minutes. Published by Notre Dame Choir Editions. PE.NDC032. With Text Language. Latin. Modern, Choral. These texts were selected from the traditional liturgical tenebrae responses for Holy Week to form a dramatic tryptych of Christ's Passion and Death. The composer strove to wring the maximum impact from the simplest of means in emulation of the "plangent austerity" of Victoria's settings but in a modern context. Each composition respects the traditional responsorial form with repeated sections of text and music but to vastly different effect in each piece. These may be performed separately or together. Includes. In Monte Oliveti - Christ's Passion in the Garden of Gethsemane. Tenebrae fact sunt - Jesus dies on the Cross. O vos omnes. also available separately as NDC031. - Words of lamentation. 'Is there any greater sorrow'. Paraphrases the traditional Gregorian chant melody. In Monte Oliveti. Tenebrae fact sunt. O Vos Omnes.
