Dance of the Furies composed by Christoph Willibald von Gluck. 1714-1787. For String Orchestra. Grade 4. Set of Parts. Published by LudwigMasters Publications. LG.10250114. This well-known work of Gluck was originally scored for strings and pairs of oboes, bassoons, horns, and three trombones. The wind lines have been artfully absorbed into the string parts of this arrangement with the original character of the work fully maintained. The bass part. which, originally, doubled the cello line. included has been rhythmically simplified while preserving the shifts necessary to the good development of players.
