Our presentation here uses the SAME rhythm in every measure in the left hand. Only the notes vary, usually only one pitch, to convey the harmony that is also such a familiar characteristic of this modal tune. It gives a less-experienced player a chance to do something that is both very common to the holiday season, and something that is less common, an ostinato.
